This Love Is Ours
Lake George has a way of making everything feel magical, but on Rachel and Nick’s wedding day, it felt like it was shining just for them. The sun was warm, the sky was clear, and the lake sparkled in that easy, late summer kind of way. The weather couldn’t have been better: high 70s, not a single cloud, just pure August perfection. Boats drifted by throughout the day, from little speedboats to the iconic Minne-Ha-Ha and The Sacrament, and it felt like the whole lake was quietly celebrating right alongside them.
A morning full of excitement
Rachel started her morning in the bridal salon before moving to one of the castle suites with her girls. The room was full of laughter, little happy tears, and that kind of buzz you only feel on a wedding morning. Nick was nearby in a cabin with his guys, hanging out and getting ready with their son, Elliott, who brought such a sweet energy to the day.
Rachel put so much thought into her details, and it showed. Their invitation suite had Lake George sketched inside the envelopes, and she even had little cutouts of their pup tucked in with the florals. Everything felt so personal and meaningful.
Their lakeside “I do”
Rachel and Nick chose not to do a first look, which meant the first time they saw each other was when Rachel walked down the aisle. Their ceremony was right at the water’s edge, with ducks waddling nearby and boats gliding across the lake. Even the big tourist ships passed by in the distance, and somehow it just added to the magic instead of distracting from it.
And I HAVE to mention this: Rachel is a true Swiftie. Their wedding fell just a few days before Taylor and Travis announced their engagement, which made it feel like love stories were in the air everywhere you looked.
Golden hour magic
After the ceremony, we wandered down to the docks just as the sun was setting. The water was calm, the light was golden, and the mountains were glowing in the background. It gave Rachel and Nick a chance to slow down and just enjoy being together, soaking it all in before heading back to their guests. These were some of my favorite moments of the whole day.
A night to remember
Their reception was inside the ballroom with about 100 of their closest family and friends. The night was filled with heartfelt speeches, a dance floor that stayed full, and so many moments of laughter. It was one of those celebrations where you could just feel how loved they are.
A summer day we’ll never forget
From Elliott’s sweet presence to Rachel’s Swiftie heart, from the boats drifting by to the glow of golden hour on the docks, this day was everything a Lake George summer wedding should be. Simple, heartfelt, and completely about them.
