A picture-perfect Adirondack celebration with blue skies, pastel blooms, and a very cute puppy
After weeks of rainy weekends, Bryn and Danny's wedding at Silver Bay YMCA felt like the unofficial kickoff to summer in the Adirondacks—clear blue skies, lush green grass, and the still, serene waters of Lake George set the tone for the most beautiful day.
From the start, their wedding day had a cozy, joyful energy. Bryn got ready in the Oak Cabin, tucked into the woods with gorgeous natural light streaming in through the windows—perfect for those quiet, sentimental moments with her bridesmaids and family. Danny got ready at the Inn, surrounded by some of his oldest friends, many of whom he met during their college days at St. Bonaventure. (And in true Bonaventure fashion, nearly half the guest list were fellow alums—which made for an especially lively dance floor later on!)

Before the ceremony, they shared their First Look in the garden beside the chapel—a quiet, flower-filled corner of the property. It was one of the sweetest moments of the day. Bryn arrived with her vows handwritten on a simple piece of paper, and Danny spoke straight from the heart. They exchanged private vows in that peaceful little garden, just the two of them (and me, trying not to cry behind the camera). It was sincere, grounding, and such a meaningful way to start their wedding day together.

With that calm and connection grounding them, we rolled right into portraits. We did all of their bride and groom portraits, wedding party photos, and family portraits after the First Look and before the ceremony, taking full advantage of the soft natural light and the beauty of the Silver Bay grounds. From the stone pillars outside the auditorium to the lake views at The Point, every location gave us something special.

Their ceremony took place inside the rustic chapel, where soft wood tones and filtered light created the perfect setting for them to officially say “I do.” And yes, their 13-week-old pup, Kota, made a very adorable appearance (and basically stole everyone’s heart).

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the boathouse for cocktail hour—one of the most scenic spots at Silver Bay. Nestled right on the edge of Lake George, the boathouse offered stunning views of the calm water, a warm breeze, and just the right kind of summer energy.
Guests sipped signature cocktails, snacked on passed hors d'oeuvres, and mingled by the lake as the Adirondack sun dipped lower in the sky. Kota made a few more appearances for pets and photos, and there was this perfect sense of ease and celebration in the air. With music playing softly in the background and the lake lapping gently against the dock, it felt like the best kind of Adirondack summer evening—relaxed, joyful, and full of anticipation for what was to come.
Their reception took place under a sailcloth-style tent decorated with pastel florals and playful flags that swayed with the breeze. It was elegant, airy, and filled with so much happiness.

And then–the band started.
Funk Evolution brought the house down—with not one but two live saxophones, a trumpet, and an entire band that didn’t miss a beat. They played everything from classics to crowd-favorite dance tracks, keeping the energy up and the dance floor packed all night long. Whether it was the heartfelt toasts, the joy of that first dance, or the sea of St. Bonaventure grads belting out every word to the last song, playing the air sax, and dancing to a traditional Irish song, it was a reception full of personality, heart, and nonstop fun.

As an Adirondack-obsessed wedding photographer, I live for weddings like this: rooted in meaning, surrounded by natural beauty, and filled with people who genuinely love and celebrate each other.
To Bryn and Danny—thank you for letting me document such a heartfelt, joy-filled day. I’ll never forget that First Look in the garden, those lakefront portraits, or the sound of live horns echoing under the tent as you danced the night away. Wishing you both a lifetime of adventures (and endless puppy snuggles with Kota).
