Carly and Addison are officially a Done Deal, and honestly, I can’t imagine a more perfect day for it. The kind of cozy fall sunshine, fresh mountain air, and reds and greens and golden foliage that Lake Placid dreams are made of. From the sweetest first look to their just-married cruise across the lake, every single moment was utterly perfect and organic.
Addison started his morning at the Golden Arrow Hotel right on Main Street, a perfect spot to soak up those mountain views and downtown Lake Placid vibes before heading over to the venue. His groomsmen, all firemen since Addison is a lieutenant firefighter himself, filled the room with laughter, stories, and a few quick tie-fixing rescues.
Meanwhile, Carly got ready in the beautiful bridal suite at the Whiteface Club and Resort. Her morning felt calm and happy, surrounded by her favorite people with sunlight pouring through the windows and the mountains peeking through in the distance.
Their first look took place by the grand entryway staircase under the antler chandeliers, the perfect mix of cozy and elegant. Carly tapped Addison on the shoulder, and his reaction said everything. They shared private vows in the garden and in the ceremony space overlooking Lake Placid with Whiteface Mountain standing tall behind them. The way the light filtered through the trees made it feel like the world just slowed down for them for a minute.
We took their portraits and family photos on the green since the Whiteface Club doubles as a golf course. The open views of the foliage and mountains made it such a dreamy backdrop. The ceremony itself took place right on the lake, with Whiteface in full view and fall colors glowing all around.
One of the sweetest and funniest moments of the day happened just as the ceremony began. Their flower girl decided she was not in the mood to walk down the aisle. She sat down and pouted at the top until her dad came to the rescue, scooped her up, and threw the petals for her. Everyone was laughing, and it instantly set the tone for the heartfelt, joy-filled ceremony that followed.
After the ceremony, Carly and Addison hopped aboard a vintage Chris-Craft boat named the Done Deal (I mean, could it get more perfect?). Their friends and families waved them off as they cruised around Lake Placid, soaking up golden hour on the water. It was one of those moments that just felt timeless, with mountains reflecting on the lake, wind in their hair, and newlywed grins from ear to ear.
Cocktail hour took place in the Boathouse, surrounded by warm wood tones and lake views. Guests mingled, laughed, and toasted to the newlyweds before heading into the main reception space, a cozy mix of rustic elegance with birch bark panels, wooden chairs, and soft candlelight.
We wrapped up the evening with golden hour portraits on the dock, the sky glowing blue and orange, the lake calm and glassy, and two people completely in love.
Carly and Addison’s table featured monogrammed champagne glasses that once belonged to Carly’s parents, a beautiful little heirloom touch that tied the generations together. Their first dance was extra magical, complete with cold sparklers sparkling all around them as everyone cheered.
Carly and Addison’s day was everything Lake Placid weddings are meant to be: warm, organic, full of personality, and surrounded by nature’s best show. From the pouting flower girl to the Done Deal boat ride, it was the perfect mix of love and laughter and fireman energy!
Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt. It's a Done Deal! 🥂
