During New York Fashion Week, I received an email from someone in PR offering a press pass to an NYFW benefit and naturally I said "(OMG) YES!!!"
"The benefit was sponsored by the Carol Galvin Foundation and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. It was a special event that honored those who have fallen 15 years ago today as an official NYFW event featuring a presentation of Vivienne Hu designs to raise money and awareness for The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers foundation (started in honor of Stephen Siller who ran through the tunnel to the towers to save many lives only to lose his own as the towers came down.) On this night, everyone stood together through not only fashion but live music performances including one by pop star Meredith O'Connor as well as many guest musical performances such as country music star James Otto. Also featured was a special walk by Madeline Stuart, the first professional model with down syndrome to walk NYFW. 100% of the proceeds were donated to both Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers as well as The Carol Galvin Foundation who sponsors women battling cancer, with this years recipient being Ericka Santiago a young 37 year old woman battling triple negative breast cancer."
